Springston School

From a small country town, to a satellite suburb for Christchurch City, Springston is a rapidly growing community.  By the time PM John Key cut the ribbon on these 4 new classrooms the school role had grown to a point where they were all immediately full!

The School follows the group learning pedagogy and these large open spaces were an eye opener for many parents. The bold colours, flexible spaces and modern materials required in our Modern Learning Environments (MLEs) were all wrapped up in buildings that blended with the existing school stock. Wide verandahs and weatherboard cladding harkened back to the older school classrooms, with a punch of bright panel colour to keep it interesting.

The attached toilet block will cater for more than 300 children and helps to future proof the school as it continues to grow.
